September 11th...

This week in our classroom your child has been completing an individualized research on at least one plant or animal that lives below sea level.  They created a vertical number line and graphed the elevations at which the organisms live.

We are on our 2nd week of Daily Math Practice (Bell Ringer).  Each day consists of 5 practice problems that focus on different math skills or standards. Friday's problems are designed like a quick assessment in our classroom.  If students have followed along and participated all week, this is an easy way to get a good grade.

Week of September 3rd...

Today we began Chapter 5 Integers and the Coordinate Plane.  In this chapter, your child will learn how to graph, compare, and order integers.  Also, we will be graphing points in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane.  A parent letter was sent home with your child today, including key vocabulary words and activities you can do with your child at home.  If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me at school.
